Being engaged and participating in the arts and creativity has proven positive for our well-being.
We would like to make Fleetwood Market a place to host different creative activities both for visitors and traders.
We’re looking for local arts groups, artists, drama groups, choirs, musicians, dance schools, creative writers, poets, knitters and crafty folk to help provide short performances, sessions or demonstrations at the market during June and July.
Slots are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and most Saturdays. During these months there will also be a visual artist in residence, who will be creating a unique installation. You can help to shape this work too!
If you can spare a voluntary hour and come along to promote yourselves and what you do, inspire others to participate then we would love to hear from you.
We can help publicise your group, make your group part of this ‘special pool’ of creative providers at the market and open up further opportunities for you at local events.
You will be well looked after at the market with support staff, refreshments and other important facilities.
Let’s make Fleetwood healthier together! For further information contact Chris Wyatt at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01253 887450
Julie has been trading at Fleetwood since 1987 and is third generation in the family business. Starting her career at 16 on Morecambe market she decided to start trading at Fleetwood Market and her sister took over the business at Morecambe. When you visit Julie’s stall today, there’s a plethora of items for all your knitting, sewing and crafting needs. You’ll find good quality knitting yarns at great prices, fabrics and card making materials and anything else you may need in between! You’re guaranteed a warm smile and friendly welcome with Julie and being a long standing market trader she says “It’s great being your own boss but the best thing is the relationships with our customers. It’s great to have such a loyal client base as they know I can source most things for their knitting and crafting needs. They quite often ring ahead of their visit and let me know what they need, I’ll get the goods ordered in for them if I don’t have the item on the stall (which is unlikely!) and let them know when they can collect.”
Customers wishing to check stock ahead of their visit can call Julie on 07762 427150.
